Head of Faculty- Henrietta Agboola

The FAA team is led by Henrietta Agboola who is also the Head of Faculty. Henrietta is a celebrated Designer, Author, Trainer, TV craft programme anchor and Motivational Speaker who commenced her quest in the fashion industry over 25 years ago. She is also the CEO/Creative Director at House of Henri Limited, a fashion company that manages a number of brands including Fashion and Art Academy, Easylearncollege, Henripatterns and 2gedaforever. She is passionate fanning the ember of creative talent into worthwhile enterprise, especially in youth and women.

Henrietta has a number of laurels to her name including; Best Fashion Designer of the Year, Official Fashion Designer for the re-branding of the Lux Beauty Soap, African Bridal Practitioners Association Creative Designer of the Year, Malaria Foundation International Advocate of the Year, Xa Enterprise Award for efforts towards the empowerment of women with vocational skills, Heart of Gold Hospice Award for the support of Special Children, amongst others. Early in her fashion career, she got the award of the best student in Clothing and Textile for three consecutive years in her secondary school days at the International School, University of Lagos.

Henrietta has showcased her collections at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the platform of UNESCO at the Fashion for Development Show which was focused on employing fashion as a contributing tool to achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals. She has featured severally in the ‘Heart of Africa’ programme, a national re-branding project of the Nigeria Ministry of Information and Communication which included shows in Washington DC and Houston Texas.

Her collections have also been exhibited and sold in the USA, UK, Paris, Italy, Kenya, Namibia and Ghana. She is the author of several, highly sought after books, on fashion education in Africa, including: Garment Sewing Made Easy series (Course 1,2, & 3) Jewelry Craft and Bead Stringing Made Easy   She is a graduate in Psychology from the University of Lagos, a Fellow of the Vital Voices Growth Program, a Goldman Sach’s scholar in Entrepreneurial Management from the Pan African University and an alumnus of the British Council Creative Enterprise programme.

She is also an alumnus and mentor at FATE Foundation and a mentor at the Youth Business Initiative. Henrietta is passionate about empowering people with skills and is a mentor to many.
